Serving Blue Mountain, Craigleith, Thornbury & Lora Bay
Roofing in The Blue Mountains
Chalets, escarpment homes, and waterfront builds from Craigleith to Lora Bay. Built for the heaviest snow in the region.
Snow-belt roofing, properly done
The Blue Mountains sit in the deepest part of the Georgian Bay snow belt. Roofs here carry more load, hold it longer, and endure more freeze-thaw cycles than roofs almost anywhere else in southern Ontario. Add the local housing stock, steep chalet pitches, vaulted ceilings, and big glass gables, and you get an area where roofing shortcuts show up as ceiling stains by the second winter.
Our work here leans heavily toward standing-seam metal, generous ice and water membrane coverage, and ventilation designs that keep vaulted roof decks cold. For rental chalets we schedule around bookings and leave the site guest-ready. And when a February thaw sends water through a light fixture, our 24/7 emergency line covers the Blue Mountains the same as Collingwood.

Blue Mountains roofing questions
Why does my chalet get ice dams when my neighbour's does not? +
Usually cathedral ceilings. Many chalets have vaulted great rooms with little room for insulation and no real ventilation channel above it, so the roof deck runs warm and melts the snowpack from below. Fixes range from better air sealing and venting to, in stubborn cases, a full ice and water membrane or a metal roof that sheds the snow before a dam can form.
Is metal roofing worth it on a ski chalet? +
In this specific area, more often than anywhere else we work. The snow belt along the escarpment drops some of the heaviest accumulation in southern Ontario, and steep chalet roofs in metal shed it continuously instead of storing it. Add a 50-plus year life and it is the default recommendation for chalets we expect to stay in the family.
Can you handle steep and complex roofs? +
Yes. Steep-slope work with proper harness setups, staging, and snow-guard planning is normal work for us, not a premium exception. Complex rooflines with dormers and valleys mostly demand better flashing detail, which is exactly where cheap quotes cut corners.
Do you work with seasonal owners who are not always on site? +
All the time. We quote from an on-site inspection, share photos of everything, and can run the whole job while you are away, with progress photos as we go.
